Please pray for our sweet little Lily who was involved in a freak accident yesterday.
Tony got home from work and noticed that she wasn't waiting for him at the backdoor like she always is. He opened the door thinking that would prompt her to come in but still no Lily. As he walked around the corner, he saw her hanging upside down by her back legs from the trampoline. She had somehow gotten wrapped up in the netting from the enclosure so he had to cut the net to free her. By the grace of God, she was still alive but couldn't walk. He scooped her up and drove like a maniac to the vet. They took her right back and after a thorough exam discovered that nothing was broke and that the lack of movement was caused by a heat stroke. She had 105 temperature and was severly dehydrated. She had been fighting and yelping for her dear life for who knows how long. The vet started an IV, gave her a steroid and kept her overnight so she could continue getting the IV. He told Tony that he was 90% sure she would bounce right back. After a sleepless night from worrying, Tony picked her up this morning and I am proud to say she is at home resting peacefully! It doesn't appear that there was any permanent damage other than Tony's being traumatized from the experience. When he called to tell me what had happened, his voice was so frantic and he was just "talking" around in circles. I don't think either of us realized just how attached we really were, until last night when she was so close to death. I know she's just an animal but this experience smacked me in the face w/ a very valuable lesson to appreciate each moment with loved ones b/c tomorrow is no guarantee! Thank you Lord for watching over our Lily girl yesterday and please continue to do so in the coming days as she recovers.
