shooting hoops...

Basketball season is officially underway so Tony and I are running here and there and everywhere trying to keep up w/two busy little dribblers. Kase's team is the Mavericks and he is proudly wearing Jason Terry's number, 31. Tony is helping coach so this is a learning experience for both he and Kase. Daddy is learning a lesson in patience while Kase is learning the fundementals of the game. I must say things are going surprisingly well. Tony is enjoying the kids and Kase is catching on quickly. He made 2 baskets the first practice and is getting much better at handling the ball, passing, learning how to guard his "man" and play "D" on the other end.

I think he scored 8 at the last practice so progress is being made. He's having a great time and that's all that matters to me! As for Keller, his team is the Lil' Fire Balls and I can't think of a more fitting name than that.

Not only for Keller but for the team in general. If you've never seen 3 and 4 year olds play basketball, you're really missing out. Talk about hysterical! They look like a swarm of bees chasing after the person w/the ball. Keller doesn't like to be the one w/out the ball so he tackles the player steals the ball and then sits down and holds onto it until an adult can talk him out of it. As you can tell from his pictures, he fits the description of a ball hog really well. However, he could care less about scoring any points; he just wants to hold the ball and watch. Thank goodness for kind, caring and patient coaches b/c I don't think I could ever do it...nor would anyone want me too for that matter.

Check back soon for an update and pics from Game #1. We're off to the park to practice dribbling...I think I can handle that part and who knows...maybe I'll get lucky and make a shot or two!
