Looking back at last years pictures of Easter, I realized the Easter bunny leaving two stuffed baskets was a little excessive. I wanted this year to be different from years past so the Easter Bunny and I had a long chat. We decided it would be our intent to really focus on the true meaning of Easter and not on the goodies that are left in baskets Sunday morning. I'm so glad the Easter B unny was on the same page and she did a great job of bringing things the boys needed instead of things that would end up in the trash a few days later. Rather than stuffing the baskets w/chocolate {that I usually end up eating}, one more set of legos, and "stuff" from the dollar section at Target, the Easter Bunny left things like...
swim trunks for our summer beach trip
giftcards to Toys-R-Us & Half Price Books {bet you know which child got which card}
an Alvin and the Chipmunks DVD for the movie watcher
a plastic "digger and shobel" for our gardener/lawn boy
and a few other things that are a "must have" in every Easter basket; chocolate bunnies and jelly beans.
The boys were so excited about their baskets and I was so proud of myself the Easter Bunny for overcoming the guilt of not having 2 overly stuffed baskets for my children. Less really is more and come to find out, I'm the only one who noticed there was less. Easter morning couldn't have been better!
