This past week, Kase spent the mornings learning about what it's like to be a scientist at Science Safari summer camp while Keller and I did whatever he wanted to do each day...w/in reason, of course.

Both boys enjoyed their time and just like everything else w/the two of them, their time was spent engaged in completely opposite things. Kase was excited to learn about fossils,
magnetic fields,
electrical illusions, and a variety of other scientific concepts. Keller, on the other hand, chose to spend his time driving around looking at every athletic complex in town.
I asked him the first day of camp what special things he wanted to do w/mommy and his reply was, "we can drive around and look at the football field, tennis courts, and the baseball field and maybe it will be open so I can run on the bases." Lucky for him, the mowers were there two of the days so he was able to get out and run on the field. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do that but the mowers didn't run us off so we stayed for awhile. He played his little heart out while I sat in the bleachers imagining myself sitting in that same spot one day watching him play high school baseball. Who knows if that will happen but what I do know is the time will come quickly. So, I just soaked in the moment as I watched my precious little one fulfill the desires of his heart by getting to stand on a "real" pitchers mound,
sit in a "real" dugout
and be a "real" superstar in his eyes.
On the days we couldn't get into the fields, he was happy helping me out in the yard. I pulled weeds while he "weeded" w/his "spray thing".
On the last day of camp, Keller was finally able to be apart of what big brother was doing. He got his own rocks, a tool to chip with and even has a knowledgeable brother scientist who is willing to teach him all about fossils!
What a fun week for everyone...mom included!
