Flag football season has started and the Eagles are off to a winning start. They've been practicing hard the past month
and played their first game last Saturday; winning 21-20.
I wasn't sure what to expect from Keller b/c he's told us about 723 times that we "should've put him in t-ball instead of flag football". I'm beginning to think baseball is his first true love b/c that's all he talks about! Since baseball is only offered in the spring, we decided to give flag football a try. It was either that or soccer and he made it very clear he wasn't interested in that. Flag typically starts at age 5 and b/c Keller is still 4, we had to play him up w/the 5-7 year olds.
Judging by the smile on his face, I don't think he minds being the littlest guy on the team. In fact, I think he's finding out that he just might like flag football after all. His size is deceiving but fair warning to the other guys, he packs a mean punch. His hardnose attitude compensates for his size so he is turning into one tough little lineman. Thank goodness they don't call penalties in this league b/c I'm pretty sure Keller would've been called for holding every play of the game.
When he wasn't busy holding playing offense, he was on the sidelines running track,
punting the ball and tackling his teammates as they came off the field. Four quarters later with a 1 in the win column, it was time for snacks
and a little fraternizing w/our good friend Kade.
Good luck 9 and 19! Your moms can't wait for the day we watch you play together as Yellowjacket teammates. Until then...go Eagles and Jackets!
