College Station

Welcome to Aggieland...is there anything sweeter than that? I think not!

We took a long overdue trip down to College Station this past week-end to see Paw-Paw Bobby. The boys rarely get to see him and when they do, it's always been at our house so they were excited to finally be going to his house. He lives in a retirement home so we just visited and then spent the night in a hotel...with a swimming pool of course. The boys have such high standards and I just don't have any idea who they might get that from! We took Paw-Paw and his friend, Linda out to dinner at this yummy place.

If you ever go to College Station, you can't leave w/out eating here. It's the best! After dinner, we went back to Paw-Paw's house and let the boys entertain him for a bit. Linda had a huge basket of toys so she dumped it out and the first thing they found was the nerf guns.

Fire away!

We woke up early Sunday, had a nice breakfast and the boys swam a little before it was time to go say good-bye to Paw-Paw Bobby. They weren't at all happy about our trip being so short but we promised we would see him again soon. As it turns out, we'll be seeing him a lot sooner than we thought b/c he's decided to move to the Dallas area. I truly think spending time w/his grandsons had a lot to do w/his decision so that made our trip down even more worth it. You could see the sparkle in his eye as he watched the boys play. Keller talked to him about his recent select baseball try-outs and asked him to come to some of his games in the Fall. Just the thought of that tickled Bobby to death and we are so excited about having another fan in Keller's cheering section. We took a couple pictures and this about sums up our lives these days.

Keller is the family clown and doesn't take much in life too seriously. He's such a joy!

After saying good-bye, we took Kase and Keller down to see the one and only, Texas A&M University. I figure you can't start brainwashing your children soon enough. Kase has always been an Aggie fan...I started him young. I'm still working on Keller but it looks like I'm losing out to Tony and the Longhorns. How dare I even say that word on here but we can have a house divided. Actually, we don't care where our children go as long as they go somewhere and preferably w/a scholarship in hand. Kase thinks he might want to be a vet or an architect so we took him by those buildings. We also showed him the track field and tennis courts, two of his other interests. He was pretty impressed w/it all but the animal science building was his favorite. Keller just wants to be a baseball player so he was mainly concerned w/seeing the baseball fields. He's so easy to please! We drove by Kyle Field,

made a quick stop at Aggieland Outfitters and had lunch at Layne's before hitting the road for home.

It was a very short trip but well worth it b/c we were able to convince Paw-Paw Bobby that the best place to be is close to his family...we can't wait to get him here!
