Day 3-San Diego Zoo/Padres Game

Day 3 was a busy, busy day. We spent the morning and most of the afternoon at the San Diego Zoo.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Our monkey hanging out w/another monkey.

It was all we thought it would be and more...truly amazing and no surprise it's ranked the #1 zoo in America.

A former student and very close friend, drove in from LA and met us at the Zoo. The boys were excited to have some company and knew it would mean lots of extra attention.

She is super busy working on her music so we don't get to see her as often as we'd like, which made her visit even more special to all of us. Thanks Tammy {and Ryan} for joining us...we wish you the best of luck on your CD and can't wait to see you again at Christmas. Once we finished up at the Zoo, we went back to the hotel for a quick change of clothes and then off to Petco park for a Padres baseball game.

Two completely different atmospheres for two completely different children. Can you guess which one had the most fun at our first stop? You guessed it...Kase. He absolutely loves animals...seeing them, reading about them, studying them, and could spend an entire week at the zoo and still not get enough. We didn't need a tour guide b/c we had our very own in Kase. He told us about each animal, where they lived, what they ate and whether or not they were endangered. Keller actually enjoyed the zoo a lot more than I thought he would but he was still more concerned about getting to the Padres game in time for batting practice. I think he asked us about 432 times if it was 5:30 yet. We packed some pants and long sleeve shirts for the game but it wasn't enough to keep us warm. Tony ended up at the gift shop to buy a long sleeve shirt.

I couldn't believe we were sitting at a ballpark in June shivering, watching people walk by in hoodies and winter coats sipping on hot chocolate. Quite different than what we're used to in Texas. We made it through the 5th inning and then headed back to rest up for day 4.
