state fair of texas

Last Wednesday, the big people took off from work so we could join the little people for a fun day at the state fair of Texas. The boys were so excited about spending the day w/friends and even more excited when they found out we were going to have an extra special guest join us. My sweet dad {aka Papa} took the day off so he could go to fair w/his grandkids...isn't he the best? I think so. I'm pretty sure it turned out to be way more than he bargained for but it was definitely a day the boys and I will never forget.

Kase was thrilled when we arrived at Big Tex.

Apparently, his 2nd class did a Big Tex measurement lesson the day before so he couldn't wait to share all his knowledge w/the rest of us.
Of course, Keller wasn't the least bit interested in a history lesson on Big Tex. He was ready to waste money try his luck at the games.

Once the game card was empty and prizes were won, we were off to meet our friends in the Midway.

With friends along, Kase decided he'd try out a few new rides...nothing like a little peer pressure. Look at that poor face...

bless his heart. Mean ol' mommy and daddy let him get on that knowing full well he was going to be scared to death...and he was. Poor thing got off and came running over to my dad and just started crying. I doubt he'll ride that again any time soon. Keller is all about cars so he spent his fair share of tickets on this ride...

and this ride.

After spending a small fortune on rides and food, we wrapped up our outing w/some free entertainment at the petting zoo and dog show.

Time to call it a day...see you next year Big Tex!
