full of cheer

This time of year, not only am I full of Christmas cheer, I've had the opportunity to do a little cheering of my own and it has been an absolute blast!

Our high school football team made the playoffs and what's even more exciting is that they made it to the 4th round of the playoffs. So, for the past several weekends, we've been to Cowboys stadium, and Baylor's Floyd Casey Stadium to cheer our Jags on to victory.

Several of the senior players are my office workers so aside from football, I've had the opportunity to get to know them really well. They are such a fun and

energetic group of boys that I am going to terribly miss come May 2011.

Before their last game, we fed them spaghetti, pizza, cupcakes, cookies and anything else they could find to eat.

As I watched them grab hands and pray together, it warmed my heart b/c one day, that will be Kase and Keller w/their special friends...how precious and sweet those moments will be! Unfortunately, our Jags lost out last Saturday in Shreveport, LA. The boys were sad but quickly reminded of what an incredible season it's been. I am so proud to have been a part of "Jaguar Nation" for the past 4 months and look forward to next football season!

Luckily, several of the boys are going on to play college football so I'll still have the chance to cheer them on at the next level. I just won't get to spend 3rd period w/them having much more fun than should be allowed at a job. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my school! We have the most wonderful group of students and the staff that surrounds me is amazing.

Speaking of staff, the morning after our playoff loss, a few teachers and myself went to cheer for our co-worker and my dear friend Cindy at the White Rock Marathon.

She's the motivation behind my running and has been my biggest cheerleader along the way so I couldn't imagine not sharing the day w/her.

I had never been to that particular race; it was truly an inspirational thing to watch as 7ooo+ runners crossed the finish line. Some collapsed, others were emotional but Cindy...she just looked like Cindy on any other day. I had to ask her if she even felt like she just ran 26.2 miles b/c she looked so good. Congratulations Cindy!

I am so proud of you and look forward to the day me, you, Nat, Raya and Rhonda cross the finish line together! Be patient-I'm only at mile 5...21.2 to go!
