The Friday before Valentine's Day, Keller had an appointment w/the heart doctor...better known as the pediatric cardiologist.
Several weeks ago, while waiting on his pizza at Costco, he said his heart was "beeping fast" and hit his chest in an effort to make it stop. Of course, I went into panic mode, felt his pulse, and started timing his beats per minute. Everything seemed normal to me but I wasn't going to sleep well if we didn't get it checked out. So, off to the local after hours clinic we go. They checked his vitals and did an EKG. Vitals were great but the EKG showed some PAC's. That's a fancy term for palpitations. She referred us to his pediatrician who then referred us to the heart doctor. All of that to say, God is so good and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong w/his heart. The EKG was normal but the doctor wanted him to wear a holter monitor so he could get a 24 hour read of his heart.
Boy was that fun! We won't get those results back until next week but the doctor is 99.8 percent sure nothing will show up. Keller is a healthy little guy w/a heart that "beeps fast" when it's supposed to. Needless to say, after that experience and spending our morning at Children's Medical Center, we are counting our blessings and hugging the boys tighter every chance we get. Just simply leaving the hospital hand in hand w/Keller is something many parents may never get to do. Please pray for the precious children and their parent's who live that life day in and day out. It's heartbreaking...
