first win of the season

Spring training is over...let the games begin!

The Wreckin' Crew kicked off the 2011 season w/a big win last Thursday night.

Talk about entertainment...watching 5&6 year olds play t-ball is hilarious. The funniest moment of the night was when one of Keller's teammates playing right field decided he didn't want to play anymore so he just walked off the field, tossed his glove into the dugout and went to the stands to give his mom a hug. I'm sure the coaches didn't think it was near as funny as the rest of us but it was precious and you couldn't help but laugh. I heard him tell his mom, "I just don't really feel like playing t-ball today." She eventually bribed coached him into going back out to finish the game. Keller played 1st most of the night and did well considering it was his first time to play in that spot.

However, the highlight of the night was his first at bat. He walked into the batters box, tapped his cleats w/his bat, took a few practice swings and then knocked one into the outfield for a double.

I was so excited and I'm pretty sure I sounded like my son just hit the winning home run in the World Series. He was beaming from ear to ear and looked into the stands to make sure we all saw it.

Tony was coaching 3rd so on the next hit, Keller got to give daddy some knuckles. It was such a sweet father/son moment and yes, you guessed it...I got teary eyed as I snapped the picture! I love my guys....big and little.

Kase's little friend was in town from Louisianna so the two of them were busy catching up and playing games.

The season is off to a great start and I can't wait to spend the next 12 weeks being a "baseball mom". I love it!
