Meet the Teacher

Pop back to school was this past Friday so the boys were anxiously awaiting my arrival home from work. They couldn't wait to find out who they'd be spending the next 9 months with. Since it was Keller's first official meet the teacher, we went to the kindergarten hall first. Kase was such a good big brother and led the way for Keller. He couldn't wait to show him where his classroom would be. The lists were posted in the hall so we stopped, looked for Keller's name and SURPRISE! His name was on the same list Kase's was 3 short years ago. Mrs. R knew it was little brother's turn to start school so we were all secretly hoping that would happen...and it did! Presley also had Mrs. R last year so she said it was only fair for her to have all 3. We tried to warn her early on that Keller was a busy little fella but she's ready for the challenge and I can't think of anyone better for Keller than her.

Doesn't she just look like a kindergarten teacher? I'm telling you, it takes someone special to teach little ones and she is. Not only is she patient, kind and the most loving person but she is also a proud mom of 2 boys who have personalities very similar to Kase and Keller so she gets it. We are so excited and feel extremely blessed that Keller gets to spend his first year in public school w/someone so precious to our family! I know, without a doubt, this is going to be one fantastic year for Keller Bug.

After we dropped off supplies, filled out paperwork and took a few pics, we were off to the 3rd grade hall. Did I really just say 3rd grade?

The teacher Kase really wanted for 3rd grade moved to 2nd so he was a little bit sad about that. Fortunately, he got Mrs. Bridgewater who we've heard is a wonderful teacher but...she's on maternity leave for 12 weeks so he's starting the year w/a sub. We met the sub who was as sweet as can be and she is very excited about teaching the class. I'll admit...the educator in me was a little nervous about Kase having a sub but I found out she is a certified teacher and was previously a long term sub for another 3rd grade class. Knowing that, I feel much better and won't spend the next 3 months stressing out over him being prepared for the new STAAR test. He is in great hands. Several of his friends are also in his class so that was an added bonus. Great teachers, special friends, and two happy little guys...what's not to love about the upcoming school year. It's going to be SPECTACULAR and we are ready to get it started!
