The Texans finished off their fall season last week (it's actually been a couple weeks now) playing their last two games on back to back nights. The boys were determined to win 1st place and knew that meant they had to win both games so they came out swinging and playing awesome defense. A cold front moved through the first night so the boys had to play in less than favorable conditions. Us moms were under umbrellas, covered up in blankets wishing we could sit in our cars to warm up while our troopers were out there battling for a win. Keller saved his best game for last hitting his first home run of the season. He's had several triples throughout the season but never could quite make it home. Speed is definitely not his strong suit.
If you ask him about the homerun, he'll tell you it was a result of the big blue thing you see in his mouth. Had we known a mouth piece would do the trick, we would've purchased it a long time ago. Oh to have the mind of a 5 year old!
The boys fought hard winning both games and are now the proud owners of a 6u Championship trophy!
Way to go TEXANS! We couldn't be more proud of our boys and feel so blessed to be a part of such a great organization. You might remember me being a little skeptical of "select" baseball when this first started but I can't say enough good things about the integrity of our coaches and this organization as a whole. Keller has enjoyed the past four months and learned what it's like to be a part of something bigger than himself...and lucky for us, we got to do it all over again in the Spring with the same special friends!
It's a great day to be a TEXAN...and a baseball mom!
