My goodness, I can't believe it's been a week since my last post....and what a week it's been! As I mentioned in the previous post, the germ bugs made a visit to our house so the boys were a little under the weather. Well, I guess I didn't use enough lysol, missed some spots w/my clorox wipes or picked up another bug from one of the 2200 students I'm around on a daily basis b/c I ended up getting sick. It started w/a cold and by Friday, I had no voice and felt like I had been run over by a freight train. The extra Vitamin C and Mucinex just weren't doing the trick so I decided I better get to the doctor and thank goodness I did. I had bronchitis, a left ear infection and the beginnings of pneumonia...something I've never had nor do I ever want to have. Fortunately, my doctor knows I'm not a good sick person so he gave me a shot, a strong antibiotic and a cough medicine to suppress the cough so I could sleep...actually, it knocked me out so I don't think I would've known if I was coughing or not. I didn't even know Keller came into our room playing his guitar at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Yes, I said "a.m." That seems to be his new wake-up time and I guess he's trying to make it the same for all of us. We get the concert music and Kase gets things thrown at him while he's sleeping. Poor baby, he doesn't stand a chance! Since Mommy didn't feel well, we spent the weekend wrapping presents, playing games, napping in our favorite Kelly Clarkson night shirt w/a Fruit Loop snack pack in hand,
Kase watched TV as a toddler but was never really obsessed w/any one particular show so this is all new to me. Keller, who would never sit still longer than 3 seconds, will sit and watch the same video over and over again. I even bought him a couple different DVDs but he prefers the original one and let me tell you, it's the goofiest, silliest show. I can't figure out what they do that's so entertaining but I'm thrilled that we've finally found something to hold his attention. Sure makes getting ready in the morning a whole lot easier! Tony and I got out Sunday to visit his older brother in the hospital. He was diagnosed w/cancer a year ago and was given 6 months to live but is still fighting today...what a strong man! The cancer is back and growing so rapidly that they've stopped the chemo b/c it's no longer effective. God is now preparing a place in Heaven for him and we are so thankful that we got to spend a few hours w/him on Sunday. He was unresponsive today so we know his time on earth is coming to an end. Please keep his wife, children, and Tony's family in your thoughts and prayers!
That's all I have for now...bundle up and drink lots of peppermint hot chocolate b/c it's going to be cold tomorrow...brrr!
