Future All-Star

With Keller, we discovered very early on that he had an infatuation w/balls and that anything round in shape was considered a ball...no matter what it was. Now that he's a little bit older, he talks about "b-ball, bassetball, hut-hut" all the time, sleeps w/balls, carries one everywhere we go, and can spot them a mile away. He's become a player in his own mind and plays at least one sport a day. It's usually baseball and "hut-hut" but he has been known to play golf and hockey using his baseball bats. The boy is obsessed w/sports so you can only imagine the look of excitement on his face when we pulled up to a "real" baseball field. We've taken him to a Ranger game and he's been to Kase's games before but he was still a little too young to really "get it". This time, he got it and he got it good! He had his cleats on, brought his own bat, ball and glove and was raring to go the minute we stepped out of the car. I'm so glad we got there a little bit early so he was able to go out onto the field before the practice started. You could see the determination in his eyes so I'm not sure either of us could've kept him from going out there; nor, would we want to break his little heart by telling him no. He had been looking forward to it all day, had his gear in hand and it was time to play ball...batter up!

As the other kids started arriving, he spent a little time playing catch w/Tony off to the side.

As you can tell, he's really enjoying himself. So much that I couldn't put the camera down for fear I might miss an expression like this one.

He got so tickled at himself and only he knows why...priceless!
Once the team was finished w/warm ups, it was time to go to the other side of the fence. A side he doesn't really care to be on. Can you tell?

{That's him telling me "no" he doesn't want to come sit down.}

He did finally sit down and even provided a little bit of coaching when it was Kase's turn to bat. "You gotta hit that ball hard Kase and then you get a home run." After that, it was back to the field for some more instruction. This time daddy was the coach!

Oh Keller Bug, we can't wait until it's your turn to play b-ball. For now, we'll enjoy watching you play w/your one man team! Just please do me a little favor; keep the aluminum bat outside and remember, we only use bats to hit balls!

That cracks me up!!! He is really into it. I sure wish they would let him play up on Jake's team since his team is just 4 yr olds and have barely turned 4. Do you think they would? That is not much of a difference especially when you look at how determined Keller is... LOL! Alot more determined then some 4 yr olds. :)
If you are interested call Amy tomorrow and see if she will let you. That would be fun!!!! He already looks like a pro... :)
