Loads of fun and lots of pictures...

T-ball, shower, party and another lost tooth pretty much sum up how we spent the last 3 days. We did manage to get a little R&R in there. Actually, I should say Tony and I got a lot of R&R. The boys spent the night w/his mom Saturday night so we slept in until 9:00. It was soooo nice but still wasn't enough to make up for the late night we had the night before. I don't know how on Earth I used to stay out until the wee hours of the night and then get up for work the next day. I'm thinking my age and 2 kids must have something to do with it.

Friday night, the entire family came out to watch Kase play his last t-ball game of the season and what do you know? I left my stinkin' camera at home. I had to resort to the good ol' iphone and taking pictures isn't its best feature. Oh well...it worked and I think we've been successful in coercing talking Kase into playing in the fall so there will be many more photo ops in the future. He enjoys playing the game; the tough part is getting him in uniform and to the field. As you all know, he's not a big fan of tennis shoes and tight pants {so his mother's child} and since baseball requires both, it's a little bit of a struggle. We did agree to let him wear shorts since it was hot, muggy and the last game. Kase also informed us that "Keller gets to wear shorts, so why can't I? Because you want me to sweat?" Yes, Kase, that's exactly why I want you to wear pants. If I had a dime for every time I heard "but Keller is, but Kase is"; I'd be one rich momma!

We can always count on this one to be a happy camper at the ball field!

On Saturday, Tony and I, along with 4 other couples, hosted a couples shower for my sweet friend/co-worker Natalie and her fiance, Clayton.

Kerri & Keith were so crazy nice and opened up their home to 35+ couples. All I had to do was provide the invitations, favors

and my favorite, cake.

Not only did it look good, it was delicious and a big hit among guests. Thank you Angie for coming to the rescue at the very last minute!
Kerri spent part of the night taking self portraits;

however, I did manage to get a couple of us girls.

From looking at the pictures, would you believe that goofball Kerri is our department head? That means she is the one in charge of our department, she's the leader of the pack..can you imagine what my working environment is like? Pretty scary...but oh so fun!

Clayton and Natalie received so many nice things, including a little gift that turned her as red as a beet.

Nat-I told you I'd make you a part of the blog someday; just didn't know it would be a picture of you w/your new "pears". Don't worry, one day we'll look back and laugh! On a more serious note, I am so excited for you and wish both of you the best of luck. Your friendship is such a blessing to me and I am so thankful God allowed our paths to cross at Horn High School. Lots of stressful times but some of my greatest teaching memories come from G207 and G208...1 colon 1 until we die! {Sorry for the interruption of the blog flow; had to send a shout out to my friend}

Sunday was Kase's day to party down with some of his peeps. Along with some other classmates, he celebrated his best buddy, London, as he turned the big 6.

It was a "Scooby Doo water party" so they splashed in the pool,

slipped and slid, sprayed water guns, launched water balloons w/boomerangs and collected worms.

Poor babies were covered in goose bumps with quivering lips but they were not about to miss out on water activities. They had a blast while us moms sat around talking about how sad we are that our kindergarten babies are about to be 1st graders! Lump forming in my throat as I type...

As I was finishing off my dinner, Kase came running in to let me know his bottom front tooth was about to come out. I checked it last week and it was still pretty snug so I didn't think we'd be playing dentist for a few more weeks. I was wrong. That tiny little tooth was ready to come out so I gave it one good tug and out it came. The very generous tooth fairy stopped by and left $5. Now if we can just get the other top tooth to let go, we'll really have a snaggle tooth on our hands.

{Note to self. Make sure the subject of your picture isn't facing into direct sunlight. Eyes are meant to be open in pictures.}

Hope all of you had an enjoyable weekend doing things that make you smile. We certainly did!
