stacy & boys: Flip this kitchen

This past weekend, Tony decided to take his handy man skills up a notch. He LOVES to watch HGTV so I should've seen it coming when he DVR'd an episode on remodeling kitchens. Until then, we'd never recorded anything and honestly, I didn't even know we had it. Shows how little time I spend watching TV and also shows my lack of involvement in the much too high DISH bill we pay every month. Whatever happened to basic cable? Anyways, back to my reason for this post; we love everything about our kitchen except the tile backsplash. The tile reminds me of something you'd see in a bathroom but I learned to live with it b/c it was serving it's purpose...whatever that may be. Tony played back the episode and asked me if I liked the kitchen. Of course I liked the kitchen; who wouldn't like a kitchen on those shows? I mean goodness they have every last feature you could ever add to a kitchen and this particular one had oil rubbed bronze appliances. Whoa, I not only liked it, I loved it! I later realized that what he meant to say was, "do you like the tile backsplash?". Oh, yes, I do like the backsplash. Discussion ended and I hopped in the shower. As I was getting out, I heard a loud banging noise. I assumed Keller was hitting something w/his bat so I continued on w/my morning routine b/c I knew daddy would take care of it. Well, as it turned out, it was daddy doing the banging. He was smashing tiles and preparing the wall for a new backsplash. Didn't take him long to make up his mind. The boys went to spend the night w/Tony's mom and we went shopping for tile and the many other things that go along w/a weekend project.
