For the love of boys...

We had a little family cook-out at our friends home on Wednesday night and I can honestly say it wore the boys smooth out. Keller, who never slows down, has taken 4 hour naps the last 2 days and still gone to bed at the usual time. Kase has also taken longer than usual naps and even asked to go to bed last night. I think the exhaustion was a combination of a late night, playing in the water and running around trying to keep up w/the other children. One of the other couples have 2 boys so that made it all the more rowdy and wreckless.

The kids were going 90 mph all night long. Girls were being girls

and the boys....

well, they were being boys...including one of the dads who was also the designer of the "big, huge, redneck slip and slide".

It was so much fun to sit and really "observe" the kids play together and at one point, I caught myself smiling as I imagined my life as the mom of 4 boys. No, we're not having anymore {I don't think} but the idea sounded so delightful. They were truly having a ball w/one another and I was giggling inside as I watched their interactions.

It was just like watching mini-men...the conversations they had, hand gestures, tone of voice, and facial expressions were just like that of grown men.

It was yet another simple reminder of how thankful I am to be the mom of 2 boys and I am so excited about watching them grow up into the young men I caught a glimpse of tonight.

For the love of boys...

I am one blessed mommy!
