Can't keep a good man down...

At least not for long. Tony's surgery went well on Tuesday and he's already talking about going back to work on Monday. It took a little bit longer than we expected but Kase and I found plenty to do out in the waiting room.

I caught up on some reading while he played his DS and watched a movie on his DVD player.

Halfway through the movie, the office manager came out and told him he could change the channel on the TV. As you can tell, that was music to his ears.

He switched it over to the Disney channel and was good to go for the long haul. Daddy was a little emotional coming off the anethesia but other than that; he was a superstar patient and has been all week. The boys "get well" present must've worked wonders

or maybe it was the ice pack kisses from Keller.

Whatever it was made daddy feel better a lot sooner than I expected. I didn't even get to play nurse for very long b/c by Wednesday morning, he was up limping moving around and ready to get out of the house. I took the boys down to his moms around lunchtime and when I got back, he had been to the grocery store and to rent a few movies...all by himself! We spent the rest of the day relaxing, enjoying the peace and quiet, napping, watching movies, enjoying the peace and quiet. Oh wait, did I already say that? It was so nice b/c we didn't have anywhere to go or anything that "had" to be done so we just spent time together. Talking, laughing, reflecting on our lives before kids and how good God has been to us since we started this journey almost 9 years ago. It was a very refreshing day for both of us and I'm so glad we had the chance to sit and truly listen to what the other was saying. Instead of talking over noise, around children, or across the house...I loved it! Thanks Tony for being such a good listener and for loving me w/ALL your heart, ALL the time. You are wonderful!

The boys ended up staying another night at Maw-maws so we had a quiet house for 2 days in a row...such a nice treat but we were definitely missing them by that afternoon. Tony spent Thursday resting at home and I spent the day shopping w/my gimpy and also limpy sister, Morgan. She took a tumble down her stairs on Monday night and after a trip to the ER, came home w/crutches and wearing a nice black boot. And everyone always thought I was the clumsy one...I think we set that record straight! We had plans to go to McKinney for her birthday on Wednesday but those plans changed after her fall. However, she decided Wednesday night, that she was not going to let a boot spoil her birthday plans so off we went...boot and all!

Now, that is what you call a dedicated shopper. We had such a good time talking, laughing, sharing cheesecake {can you tell chocolate was our favorite?},

and doing what we do best when we're together, shopping for bargains! Must have been the luck of the boot b/c we found plenty of those that day. Some we bought and others we left sitting at the store, like the pretty {hideous} red pair of shoes Morgan wouldn't let me buy. Thanks Morg for a fun day; welcome to the "30 and up" club. I'm blessed to have you in my life and look forward to the next 30 years together as sisters. Just please promise me, you won't make a habit out of falling down stairs. You don't have to go to such extremes to get us to take care of you!
