Oops, how did I ever skip over our library trip that took place a month ago? It was a very exciting day for our little bookworm b/c he was able to check out as many books as he wanted and 2 movies. He didn't have any trouble picking out his movies but the books were another story. After walking the non-fiction and biography section several times,
he finally settled on these 6 books.
Can you tell he love animals? I had to pry his head out of the book to get him to look at the camera. He was way too busy reading to smile for me. Besides, you don't go to the library to take pictures. At least that's what Kase thinks!
I was able to convince him to check out a Junie B. Jones book for us to read at bedtime b/c the other ones are a little hard to read. For me, that is. Can you tell I prefer fiction? Actually, I was never a science or history person so mammals and dinosaurs were never my favorite things to read about. I enjoyed math so I would rather sit and solve algebraic equations all day long than read a book about songbirds or leatherback turtles. Kase, on the other hand, will sit and look at those types of books for hours on end and then ask questions or share what he learned from each of them. He loves nature and all of it's creatures and is now teaching his mom all the things she forgot from 7th and 8th grade science class. I enjoy being a student and learning from my own child. I will tell you he is one amazing teacher. He's also pretty good on the computer, which I find amazing since I didn't touch one until I was in 9th grade.
At least, I don't think I did and even if I did, I certainly wasn't creating an on-line library account and playing spelling games. My how times have changed since Mrs. Eldridge's class!
