We survived our first day...

Not only did I survive my first day back at work, we {Keller and I} also made it through the first day at a new daycare preschool. Now, I didn't say it was easy or that I didn't cry on the way there...

when he crossed his arms, looked at me w/the saddest face and said "I don't want to stay here"...

and then again on the way to work; I'm just saying I survived another parenting milestone. I even suprised myself by not calling to check on him but then again, Aunt Bubba {Morgan} took care of that for me. I promise I didn't even ask her to...it was all her idea. She called and reported back to me several times throughout the day. Of course, he was a little lost at first but was happy and playing by the 2nd phone call. Why wouldn't he be? He's Mr. Personality and warms up to people in about 3 seconds so by the time I made it to the car, he was already busy playing w/his new friends. Through tear filled eyes, I arrived at work, re-applied my mascara, had another melt-down when Tony called, dried my tears, re-applied my mascara and then entered JHHS to begin my 10th year of teaching. Today was bittersweet. As sad as I was about saying good-bye to summer, I'm just as anxious and excited about what's in store for us over the course of the next 9 months. I'm blessed w/a job I love, Keller is at a great school making new friends and Kase will soon start 1st grade w/many of the same friends from last year. I think it's safe to say this is going to be one fun-filled school year for all of us!
