Meet the newest members of our family...

Towards the end of summer vacation, Kase and Presley started talking about wanting an interactive hamster like they saw on TV. Morgan and I had no idea what they were talking about so we started paying attention to commercials and keeping our eyes out at Walmart, thinking it would eventually pop up somewhere. I thought it had something to do w/the movie G-Force but Kase assured me I was wrong. After talking to a sales associate at Toys-R-Us, we finally figured out what it was they were talking about. Unfortunately, they were completely sold out everywhere and weren't sure when they'd be getting more. Even once they got a shipment, she said they sell out in just a few hours so you have to be there at just the right time. We did find them on Amazon but they were marked up about 60% so I wasn't interested in doing that...I'm all about a bargain and that was not one. Grammar enters into the equation and decides this is something her grandkids need so I'm instructed to look for them on Ebay. Of course, they had 12 pages full of hamsters and all of the accessories that go w/these lovely pets so finding them wasn't going to be a problem. However, like Amazon, they were a little overpriced but w/in reason so I purchased three. This was Saturday night and guess what happens Sunday? Kase and I go to Walmart and what do you think we stumble upon? A young man unpacking a box of Zhu Zhu pets and the little houses that go w/them. Needless to say, after spending $54 for 3 on Ebay and then finding them for $8 a piece, my stomach hurt all morning long. We bought the houses and several of the pets b/c you better believe, I'll be selling the 3 I bought on Ebay back to some other crazy person like myself. Once they're sold, I'll sleep much better knowing I {Grammar} ended up spending $8 instead of $18. Now, with all of that being said, please meet the newest members of our family...Chunk and Pipsqueek.

As you can tell by Keller kissing his, they love them and have already been shopping on-line to see what other accessories they need for their pets....sleeping bags, surf board, sleep dome, add on garage, adventure ball and wheel runner. Who on Earth thinks up things like this? Probably the same billionaire that came up w/Tickle me Elmo.

Nevertheless, I have two happy little boys who are now being entertained by a pet that runs on batteries. Works for me! Thank you Grammar for making them the proud owners of a pet hamster. Please remember there are no real hamsters at our house...even if they ask for one!
