Another school year has come and gone which means the time has come to say good-bye to an amazing group of seniors...the graduating class of 2010.
I say this every year but I truly mean it this year; this group of kids is going to be missed dearly. The tears started sooner and lasted well into the graduation ceremony and even afterwards when talking to their parents. After spending 4 years together, you really get to know your kids and build friendships that extend outside the walls of the school. Some, such as the girls below, are like family as we've trusted them to take care of our own children.
We've spent countless days laughing together, crying together, getting aggravated w/one another, mentoring, cheering each other on, and just enjoying each opportunity we had to make our school a fun place to teach and learn. There's nowhere I'd rather be each day than working w/such a fun group of people while impacting the lives of teenagers who come to us as immature freshman and leave as confident young adults ready to face the challenges that lie ahead.
It is truly an honor and the highlight of each school year to watch as they walk across the stage and receive their diploma culminating 13 years of hard work and dedication. Congratulations 2010 graduates; you've touched my life in more ways than you can even imagine. I can't wait to see what God has in store for you as you begin the next chapter in your life. You will be missed dearly but I know this isn't the end, just the beginning. Best of luck!
To my girls-what a year it's been! You have no idea how much each of you mean to me. I would've never survived this year w/out having you by my side. There were many times I wanted to crawl in a hole and never come up for air but you were always there to pull me through. The stress of a new position was overwhelming but you were always there to listen to my frustrations, screaming fits of anger and yet found it in your heart to encourage me when I felt like I couldn't spend one more day in that office. I love each of you and truly feel blessed that I'm able to spend 187+ days of the year w/you. Whether it be sitting in 5 meetings a day, sifting through mounds of paperwork, dealing w/stubborn teenagers, making silent hand gestures, coming up w/creative sayings, and laughing until we simultaneously pee in our pants; we have more fun than should be allowed. It's those moments that I will forever cherish!
