Fun at Field Day

Kase's 1st grade Field Day was last Friday and in true Texas fashion, it felt more like a steaming hot July afternoon than the end of May.

However, the 95 degree temps weren't enough to keep the kids from having a fun day w/their classmates and friends. I made sure Kase had a full bottle of sunscreen and told him to put it on like lotion.

As you can tell, he took my words to heart. Look at those pasty, white legs. I had graduation practice that morning but managed to make it to his school just in time for an indoor "picnic" lunch w/a bunch of sometimes serious, but mostly silly 1st graders.

After lunch, we went back out into the heat to finish off the last of the stations.

Luckily for the kids, the afternoon stations consisted of a few water games so they managed to stay wet most of the time.

I thought about asking them to hose me down a time or two but decided I'd hide out under the umbrellas instead. Once they completed their stations and were completely worn out,

it was back inside to cool off and have a popsicle party. Or if you're Kase, it was back inside to do a little work on the whiteboard.
