Coach Pitch

After kicking off the season with a 2nd place tournament finish, the "boys in blue" were back in action Monday night for their second game of league play.

Keller's team is playing up this season so no more tee-ball...it's coach pitch time for the Texans. They're still going to play some tee-ball tournaments but the majority of the season will be "real baseball", according to Keller.

The boys love it and think they're big time now! As a matter of fact, Keller corrected me the other day when I slipped up and used the word tee-ball. He said, "don't you know I don't play tee-ball anymore? I play coach pitch." As in other words, duh Mom, were have you been the past couple months?

The boys won the first game 14-2 and had another big win Monday night, beating the Dodgers 12-0. Up until Monday night, I was still skeptical of letting Keller play up with older and much bigger kids but it appears our 6 year olds are going to hold their own. Sure makes me feel better because all I could picture was Keller getting trampled on by a big 8 year old. Yes, I'm that paranoid, overprotective mom. We're back in action tonight and #19 is ready to go...

and so is his proud Papa!
