Keller and his kindergarten friends had a field trip to the Dallas Zoo Wednesday so I took the day off and spent it with my little guy. Just he and I for a day...something we don't get to do very often. Tony was covered up at work so he wasn't able to join us. He was a little disappointed about having to miss and we missed having him but it was so nice to spend the day with just Keller. Several other parents volunteered to go so we were responsible for our own child and one extra.
Look at the cutie pie we had with us...
what an absolute doll she was and they had so much fun together. We toured the zoo, read up on Keller's research animal,
spent some time in the new koala area,
had a picnic lunch, fed the birds and just enjoyed being outside on such a pretty, pretty day. Keller thought the bus ride to the zoo was "cool" but he wanted to ride back home with me so he and I hung out at the zoo a little while longer. We shared some cotton candy, shopped in the gift shop and then headed home. All the walking must've worn him out because he was sacked out before I ever made it to the highway. It sure is hard work being a kindergartner!
Thanks Keller for allowing me to be a part of your special day...it warmed my heart to know how much you wanted me there.
I hope it stays that way forever...love you wild man!
