VBS started Monday and boy, are we are having a blast?!? This is Keller's first year to participate so it's even more special than years past because I have both boys with me. I'm volunteering again at the "Skydive Diner" so I get to see them throughout the morning. They're usually soaking wet, look a little tired but have huge smiles on their face which tells me they're having fun while learning that "everything is possible with God". Isn't that the truth? We are so blessed to be a part of LP and the amazing things they do for kids. Last I heard there were over 1800 kids and more were registering...INCREDIBLE...it blows me away!
Kase stayed loyal to the "Hello Yellow" color group but is with a group of boys that he didn't know. I wanted him to step outside of his comfort zone and make new friends so I arranged for him to be with boys from his school. He wasn't happy with me Sunday night but has adjusted well and now has three new friends. Sometimes we moms really do know what's best when it comes to our children...and this is one of those times. I'm glad I didn't give in Monday because I sure thought about it when I looked into his eyes that were quickly filling up with tears. We both survived the day and he's now thankful I made him stick it out.
As you can tell from the pictures, Keller is part of the "Blue Thunder" group. Several of his Texan teammates are in the group and the coaches wife is their crew leader.
Bless her sweet heart...she has her hands full with that bunch. Her 15 year old daughter is also helping and the boys absolutely love her. Teenagers are so much fun for little ones! Tomorrow is spirit day and Friday is the grand finale so we are looking forward to a fun filled two days as we wind down our week of VBS. So thankful to have this special time with my precious boys!
