Keller's kindergarten graduation was last Thursday and it was still just as sad as it was 3 years ago. I've just decided that when it comes to my kids, I'm never going to make it through anything without tears. My heart is so full of joy that I just can't help it. The kindergarten classes sang a couple of songs together and then each student was recognized for their individual awards.
Keller received an award for citizenship, art, handwriting, and most athletic boy. He was also one of only 4 kids to receive the Lion Heart Award.
I wasn't exactly sure what it was so I asked for clarification afterwards. Thank goodness I didn't know what it was at the time because I would've busted out in an ugly cry. His teacher said it was given to those who have a caring heart for special needs students and went on to tell me how kind and helpful Keller's been to a little girl in his class who has braces on her legs and uses a walker. She said he took to her at the beginning of the year and has been a sweet friend to her all year. He walks her to class, helps her in the cafeteria and always makes sure she's included in daily activities. Talk about a proud moment...I thought my heart was going to explode. That's a side of Keller we don't see everyday so to know he's been doing it all year brings a big huge smile to my face. What an angel!
Keller-You are so, so precious and such a joy to our family. We are never at a loss for laughter because you fill our home with it daily. I am so proud of you for having an AWESOME year in kindergarten. You are such a bright spot in our lives and we love you more than you'll ever know.
Congratulations Class of 2024!
