As I sat at Keller's recent pre-k graduation w/big, huge tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat, it hit me and hit me hard. The saying, "everything happens faster w/the second child" is so, so true.
The baby of our family, our precious 2nd born child, the same one that was just teeny tiny is all grown up and ready for kindergarten. Graduations, awards ceremonies and pretty much anything honoring my children always bring tears but I was not at all expecting the emotions that came that day. I completely lost it and I'm not afraid to admit it. Not just tears but a full on cry...and then my camera battery went dead. Great, just great. I didn't know if I was going to be able to pull myself together but I did and thanks to the trusty little iphone, I was able to finish capturing the sweet moments of the day.
No more daycare, no more nap mats, no more little table and chairs, and no more little boy.
I now have a big boy ready for big boy school. It hit me...I'm not ready!
Congratulations Keller on a great school year. You have learned so much and we will forever cherish the sweet sounds of you singing your President's song, vowel song, and the many other things you shared w/us throughout the year. We are so excited about you joining big brother at elementary school next year and look forward to all that's in store for you as a big kindergartner. I only hope they're ready for you. We love you "bean"!
