Our oldest child, the one who never fails at making us the proudest parents in the entire world, has done it again. He had another AMAZING school year and now has certificates and special awards to serve as a reminder of the hard work and memories made in 2nd grade.
This years awards included perfect attendance, citizenship award, character award, A honor roll, "Read to Succeed", and he was the only student in the class to receive the "Outstanding Achievement Award" in all subjects. In order to do that, he had to make a 97 or higher for the year in every single subject...and he did. Yes, I'm that very proud mom bragging on her son b/c he deserves it. I take no credit b/c it's all Kase. He sets high expectations for himself, enjoys school and has a love for learning so it makes our job as parents easy.
Aside from academic awards, his teacher came up w/some fun awards and the student's voted for the classmate that exemplified that particular award, skill or character trait. Kase won the "kindest boy" award as well as the "cleanest desk" award. Kindest boy award-yeah, I lost it on that one. His teacher's hobby is woodworking so she created wood cut outs for each award.
She also gave the kids a wooden cut out of their name. Can you imagine the time that went into making and painting all of that? I told you she was a great teacher!
What a fun year it's been and we are definitely going to miss Dr. Hodges.
We have been blessed the past 3 years w/great teachers who truly have a heart for kids and love each child as if he/she were their own. Kase needs it, feels it and talks about it all the time...it makes all the difference in the world and brings such joy to our hearts to know he's in great hands each and every day.
Kase-We are so incredibly proud of your awards and achievements but more importantly the growth you've made over the past 9 months. You are coming out of your shell, developing your own personality and becoming an independent young man thinking and doing things all on your own. The kindness we see in you is now being seen by others around you and that makes us swell w/pride. You are such a gift to us and we are so blessed to have you as our son...our soon to be 3rd grade son.
We love you handsome little guy!
