Talk about loyal Texas Ranger fans...that's what you call those of us who braved the 105 degree temps at the ballpark Monday night.
Not only did we attend the game, we arrived early for batting practice only to find out the Rangers would be practicing in their indoor facility. I was a little disappointed b/c Keller had been looking forward to it for weeks but can't say I blame them for making that switch. Keller wasn't near as forgiving as the rest of us but was still a good sport cheering for the opposing team as they took batting practice. Fortunately, our seats were covered and there was an occasional breeze so we weren't feeling it as much as those in the direct sunlight b/c it was hot, hot, hot.
Don't you know this poor guy was dying inside that hot costume?
Funny for the night-Josh Hamilton came running out of the dugout and Keller asked me to take a picture of him b/c he needed to "show me something". I hurried to get my camera out and snapped this picture.
Can you guess what my 5 year old needed to show me? Sunglasses! After studying the picture, he then informed me that I needed to go the next day to get him a pair of sunglasses just like Josh's. Thank you Academy for carrying an $8 pair of Oakley knock offs. #32 and Keller now have matching sunglasses and my 5 year will never know that his were $200 cheaper.
The game was a complete blow out so there were a lot of hi-fives, home run fireworks and "claw" and "antler" gestures from the players.
Nothing is more exciting to a true Texas Rangers fan and that is exactly what this little guy is...
He loves it!
Actually, we all do and it's been one of our favorite spots this summer....even in the scorching Texas heat!
