Day 2-Sea World

With a 2 hour time difference, the boys were up at the crack of dawn raring to go. 5:30 to be exact. It was extremely bright outside so it seemed much later than it really was. So much for black out shades in a hotel...those things never fool our kids. Needless to say, we were first in line at the restaurant for breakfast. After a delicious meal, we went to the island market to buy a few souvenirs and then it was time to board the water taxi for Sea World.

It took us from the marina at the resort to the back entrance of Sea World. It was so nice to not have to find a parking spot, walk a mile to the front entrance and then wait in line to get in the gate. We picked up our map, plotted our day and then headed off to our first show. Betcha can't guess which one that might be. Yep, good ol' Shamu!

The boys insisted we sit in the splash zone so we got wet a lot sooner than we planned. It was only about 63 degrees so we were actually a little chilly. Very different than our trip to Sea World in San Antonio when we were sweating before the show even started. The weather in San Diego definitely made it a much more pleasant experience for all of us.

In between shows, the boys got a tattoo {glittery tattoos, Daddy was so proud},

ate a lot of junk, shopped at the gift stores, toured the aquarium,

and even agreed to ride a few rides, including the Journey to Atlantis.

They saw it before we got in line but had no idea what was in store. Tony wasn't so sure about it either but put on his brave face for the boys. He's not as daring as I am when it comes to amusement parks. We hopped on and off we went. I talked to Kase all the way up the first big hill assuring him it would be okay and that he would end up loving it. Yeah, I lied about the "loving it" part but he was okay 10 minutes after we got off the ride. Keller is a little dare devil so he handled it a little bit better. He by no means was asking to go again but he was so shocked after the first drop that he didn't say a word until we got off the ride. Kase screamed and cried the entire time. It was absolutely hilarious and I still laugh when I think about our picture on the computer screen. Their facial expressions were priceless and I'm so mad at myself that I never went back to buy it...even if it was $15 for the dinky thing. By the time we made it back to the hotel, the boys were laughing about the experience and thankful that we made them ride the "scariest" ride in the park. We were all so worn out from spending the day at Sea World but since it was vacation; we decided to stay up late and take advantage of the hotel pool, hot tub and fire pit for S'mores. Keller even provided some break dancing entertainment for us.

The boys loved swimming at night...it's always the little things they enjoy the most.

So sweet and such a great way to end the day. Day 3 coming up next.
