As soon as we stepped off the plane, we knew why everyone said we'd have a hard time coming back home to Texas. The weather was amazing, palm trees all around us and you could just smell the ocean in the air.
It was absolutely perfect! By the time we got through baggage claim, our cab was waiting for us. It was the first cab ride for the boys so they had nine million questions about every little piece of equipment in the cab. Thank goodness we had a very patient and extremely kind driver. We arrived at our hotel way before check in but lucky for us, they had a room ready. Now that never happens so I was a little skeptical but I agreed to take it. It wasn't our exact room but surely it wouldn't be that much different than the room we reserved. We hopped on the golf cart and off we went. All uncertainties were put to rest when our driver pulled up and said, "here you go".
What? Are you serious? This is where we'll be staying the next 5 days? Sweet...we'll take it!
We quickly unpacked and then changed into our swimsuits and headed to La Jolla for the day.

The boys were anxious to explore the coves,
dig in the sand, swim in the ocean
and get up close and personal with the Sea Lions.
Tony and I were excited about trying out the well known restaurant, George's on the Cove. It was so yummy! After several hours exploring La Jolla, it was back to the hotel for a shower, dinner and an early bed time.
Waking up at 4:30 finally caught up with us and we needed to be well rested for a busy day 2 in San Diego.
