San Diego

Here we are two months later and I think I'm finally ready to post about our family vacation to San Diego. Today is only about the 43rd time I've sat down to do it so I'm relieved that it's finally finished. Too many pictures and a lot of memories that I didn't want to leave out so it always left me feeling a little overwhelmed. Not to mention, we had VBS, baseball camp, weekend trips to Arkansas and College Station, an overnight stay at the Gaylord, swim lessons, and a trip to Galveston so I've had other things to blog about that weren't as detailed as a family vacation. You can call it procrastination too...it won't hurt my feelings!

Back to our week in Cali...we started planning this trip back in February so by the time June 4th rolled around, we were beyond excited about spending 5 days together in San Diego. The boys had never flown so that alone was a new experience for them. Keller loved it, Kase not so much. He definitely takes after me when it comes to flying. We'd prefer to drive even if it's 1000 miles away. Something about being 30,000 feet in the air doesn't sit well w/either of us but we survived and I'm sure we'll do it again next summer. Our plane left at 7:30 so with the time difference, we were in San Diego by 9:30 a.m. We wasted no time getting started on our list of things to do and see. Our feet hit the ground and we didn't slow down until we boarded the plane to come back home. It was 5 days of non-stop fun so you can imagine how depressing it was around our house as we reacquainted ourselves w/reality; which, by the way, stinks after being on vacation. Fortunately, we have plenty of pictures and many memories hid away in our hearts that we can reflect back on throughout the years. It was definitely a family vacation we'll remember for a lifetime!
