Hitting Expo

Keller was in baseball Heaven a couple weeks ago at the Garland Special Events Center. Harold Reynolds, the announcer for the MLB Network, hosted a hitting expo and Josh Hamilton and David Murphy were on hand for the event. His t-ball coach sent the email around a couple of weeks ago and we jumped on the opportunity to go b/c we knew what it would mean to Keller. We kept it a secret so you can imagine how excited he was when #32 walked out right in front of his eyes. I knew his expression would be priceless so I had my eye to the lens when he walked out and this is what I saw.

Thank goodness no one took a picture of me b/c I had tears in my eyes and that "ugly, I'm about to really cry look" just watching Keller process it all.

He was in such shock that it didn't hit him until Josh turned on his mic and started talking. That's when Keller knew it was the real deal. He kept saying, "Mommy it's Josh, it's the real Josh Hamilton. Take a picture of him mommy...as I'm snapping away!

Josh and David both talked about their childhood, the Rangers 2011 season, the importance of being a leader on and off the field and what life is like for a major league baseball player. They demonstrated some drills to do at home, talked about proper technique, and shared some funny little secrets but the most moving party was listening to Josh talk about his relationship w/Jesus Christ. It was a great message and a neat experience for all of us!

It was defintely an evening we won't forget and one that left Keller anxiously awaiting opening day of the 2012 baseball season!
