A Grand Slam Party

On December 11th, we gathered together with some of Keller's teammates, classmates, family and close friends to celebrate Keller's 6th birthday.

He doesn't actually turn 6 until the 30th but it's easier to get everyone together before the holidays so we had it a little early. The theme was Texas Rangers and the party was held at D-BAT, an indoor baseball training facility and batting cages.

Between the Texas Ranger cake (and cupcakes) and getting to play baseball for 2 hours, Keller's day couldn't have been any better.

A former MLB player and a local high school baseball player led the boys in games, relay races, pitching drills, and then each took a turn in the batting cages or hitting off the tee.

They had an absolute blast and Keller enjoyed spending the afternoon with his buddies...

and a "real" baseball player.

It was definitely the easiest party we've ever had and I was actually able to visit with the parents, take pictures and watch the kids play. I'd say #6 was a win-win for all of us or, as Keller will tell you, it was a GRAND SLAM birthday party.

After the party, we went home and watched Keller unwrap his presents.

As you can tell, he absolutely loved all of his gifts and ended up with way more cash than I carry in my purse. It's apparent money and gift cards are the gifts to give these days. So long toys! Once he finished opening the ones from family and friends, Tony brought out his gift from us...

a set of his very own golf clubs.

He was so excited and couldn't wait to get outside and hit some balls. I, on the other hand, wonder if we can find time for one more sport in our home! Baseball, basketball, tennis, and golf...the fun never ends with three boys and their toys!

Happy Birthday Little Slugger! You fill our hearts and lives with such joy and we love you more than we ever imagined possible. What a blessing you are to our family.
