Catching up!

Grab a cup of coffee, diet coke, orange juice or whatever you drink to get your blood flowing in the morning b/c this is going to be a long one. I need to catch up and that means going all the way back to Halloween. This year was a little different from the past since I was confined to a wheelchair....ughh! Fortunately, my family wasn't going to let it ruin our tradition so they took turns pushing me around in my wheelchair. We started the evening at Spook on the Square w/Dr. Lindeman & "Hooperman" aka Superman. Keller has a hard time w/his "S".

Mom stationed me at the front of her store and I handed out candy to the trick-or-treaters while Tony and Morgan took the kids up and down the sidewalk to the other merchants. I had a great time watching all the little ones and seeing all the different costumes. We then headed to Morg's for pizza and trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.

The kids had an absolute blast and got enough candy to last us until next Halloween. Actually, the chocolate supply is getting low...we must have a ghost in our house that likes chocolate!

Moving on now to the historical presidential election. I won't spend a lot of time talking about it b/c I'm not at all happy with the outcome. Kase, on the other hand, is SO excited b/c he voted for Obama at his schools mock election and he won. I'm not quite sure what persuaded him to vote for him..maybe it was the weird name or who the kid next to him voted for. Nonetheless, I will say it's exciting that I can one day tell him that he voted for our first ever minority President...even though it didn't count at the time. We just experienced a textbook moment and I'm glad he was able to be a part of it and honestly, I am too, even though it didn't turn out to my liking. My mom took down our McCain/Palin yard sign Friday so now if I can just bring myself to take the sticker off my car...that might take some time but each day gets easier and easier. Besides...God is the ultimate leader of this country and how could one not feel safe w/him guiding us?!?!

Sorry for such a long post but I didn't want to leave anything out...even if meant I had to go a back in time and talk about things I didn't want to. My mom always said if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. So, I kept my mouth closed until I could speak nicely...was I nice?
