Fabulous Friday

Fabulous b/c it's Friday at 1:26 and my weekend has already started. I just spent the last hour w/Kase at his Kindergarten Thanksgiving feast. It was a great feeling to see the excitement on his face when he came in from PE and saw mommy standing in his class. I'll go ahead and fess up that I did get a little teary eyed when I saw him walking down the hall. I thought that ended after the first day of kindergarten but not for me. He's growing up too fast!
I'm now at home enjoying the peace and quiet before I have to go back and pick him up. Since they were allowed to leave after the feast, I took off work early and had planned on spending the afternoon w/him. However, Kase heard his teacher say they were going to the computer lab and that was it for me. Our plans were off and he was staying at school! Oh well, I'm thankful he loves school and has such sweet little friends in his class. These are a few I got to meet today.

Meagan is his special little friend and isn't she such a doll? They used to sit next to one another but Kase became "table manager" so he had to move to another table. He was so sad but they still spend time together at recess and somehow manage to write their names on the backs of each others papers...how sweet!

Taylor is his new table partner and the two of them were laughing today about the strange food on their plate... cucumbers, snap peas, carrot sticks. They were trying to talk one another into being the first to try it. As you can tell from the pictures, that never happened and certainly wasn't going to b/c the cookie tray was making it's way around the room. Hmmm, a cookie or a snap pea? Not a hard decision for a 5 year old!

Backing up a bit to last night..here are some pictures of the boys decorating their Christmas trees. Kase's is decorated a little differently than years past. He has all of his own ornaments on the tree but you'll notice he also has some very unique ones. Grammer gave him a bag of ornaments that I had as a child so he decided those also needed to go on his tree. He's our very "creative" child!

Keller, on the other hand, didn't want anything on his tree unless it was a ball of some sort...tennis, golf, basketball, baseball, football...anything related to a sport! They are very different children when it comes to what they want but one thing about both is they have a love for the season and get so excited about putting up the decorations!

Random comment but one that I must mention b/c it is the cutest thing I've heard all week. Keller and I were on our way to Honey's house (babysitter) and he saw a "piece-can" (policeman) at 7-11. As always, he gets very excited and wants to talk in great depth about what it's doing, where's it going and why it's there. So, I start the conversation like I always do by asking, "what is he doing?" Keller replies, "he's getting gas at 7-8". Can you tell he's learning his numbers and is very aware that 8 comes after 7? Children...they make life worth living and I can't wait to spend the weekend w/them!
