Last Friday, Tony and I had the pleasure of spending the day w/Kase and his first grade classmates on their field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium and Kids Kingdom park. I had to be downtown later that afternoon to help set up for prom so I took the morning shift and met up w/Kase at the aquarium.
He LOVES to study animals so I knew it would be a very fun experience for him...and it definitely was. We took him when he was younger but he remembers very little about the trip so this was more like a first time visit. I've never really been a big fan of places like that {boring} but it all changes when you're with your child who is having the time of his life looking at all the different animals and spending the day w/his friends.
After going on that field trip, I will tell you elementary school teachers are the most patient individuals I've ever met. Wow...talk about hyper busy little guys and gals. Now I know why I chose secondary education!
we made our way inside to see a big, furry kitten
pretty pink flamingos
the wonders of the ocean
and this creepy crocodile.
With the help of Kase's teacher {whom we absolutely adore},
the parents were able to capture a few more serious poses.
Notice how they're all staring at Mrs. Edwards. Her sheer presence was enough to capture their attention. I'm telling ya-they have special powers!
To my 1st, soon to be 2nd grade little boy, thank you for making mommy's day so special. I love how your eyes lit up when you got off the bus and saw me standing there. You always make me feel like the most important person in the world and I am so grateful for the precious time you and I spend together. I love you sugar bug!
