a belated Thanksgiving recap

I just realized I never posted about our Thanksgiving...so what I'm a holiday behind. That's how I roll these days! Our day started out as it has for the past 7 years, decorating the Christmas tree. This is something that has become a tradition and the boys look forward to eat every single year. They can't wait to open the boxes and sort through the ornaments to find the ones they want to hang on the tree. Most make the cut but they do leave some behind for me to hang. We had to work w/Keller a little this year b/c he likes to hang them on the very tip of the branch so they ended up on the floor the minute he let go of the hanger. A few ornaments later, he had perfected the art of hanging ornaments and he was on a roll. Kase took a little more time to find the perfect spot for each ornament. I don't think the child could be any more like me when it comes to decorating. Everything is nice and orderly...a little OCD like me! We had so much fun decorating that I didn't realize until we were done that I hadn't taken one single picture. Oh well!

Once the tree was complete, we were off to Maw-Maw's for Thanksgiving lunch. Papa was out of town for business so Grammar spent the day w/us. The boys were beyond thrilled about having both grandma's together for lunch. After stuffing our faces, we headed home to change into our really warm clothes b/c we had a surprise planned for the boys. In true kid fashion, they were fussy wondering why they had to wear so many shirts, a jacket, gloves and a hat.

The grumpiness was soon replaced w/excitement as we rounded the corner and saw the entrance to the Gaylord all lit up and a sign that read "ICE".

The Wortham family joined us so the boys were happy to have friends along for the night.

We toured the {frigid} ICE exhibit,

took in the sights and sounds of the holiday decorations,

and tried our luck at Rudolph's Reindeer Roundup.

It was such a fun night and I can definitely see this becoming a holiday tradition. Although we were tired, still full from lunch and a little bit frostbitten, we had a wonderful time making memories w/our family and special friends! See you next year Charlie Brown...
