A couple of weeks ago, the girls and I took a little road trip to Waco to cheer on the Lady Raiders basketball team.
Kelsi, a former student and also the boys' first babysitter, plays basketball for Texas Tech so we took advantage of her being close to home and made a little girls day out of it. We left early in the afternoon so we would have time to grab a bite at Ninfa's {a Waco hot spot} and then get to the arena in time to watch warm-ups. Neither of those things happened b/c every.single.person in Waco and the surrounding areas had the same plan we did. The wait was 45 minutes so we opted to find another restaurant. By the time we were done eating, so was everyone else and traffic was backed up for miles. Goodness gracious! Baylor Bear fans don't mess around when it comes to basketball games on a Saturday night. We ended up parking 3/4 of a mile away so by the end of the night, we had walked off our yummy dinner. Although the Lady Raiders weren't victorious, it was a great game and we had fun cheering for #41!
After the game, we went down onto the court to congratulate Kelsi and saw another former student who plays for the Baylor boys basketball team. I watched Quincy and Kelsi play basketball all 4 years of high school so to now see them in college uniforms and playing at the next level is very exciting! We left Waco around 10:00 and stopped off in West so Natalie could get a red velvet cupcake. I might've walked out of the Czech bakery w/a $10 bag of yummies...but I'll never tell. Thanks girls for a wonderful afternoon and evening...it was just what I needed and I can't wait to do it again soon!
